ROUND
THE WORLD AIR RACE
Dr. Vijaypat Singhania won the International Round
the World Air Race in 1994, starting and ending in
Montreal (Canada) after a 24 day odyssey covering
over 35,000 kms across several countries, thereby
winning the FAI (Federation
Aeronautique International) Gold Medal. This is the
most coveted award given in aviation sports.
Taking
off from Montreal the 16 participants and their aircrafts
flew through 8 countries, Morocco, Turkey, UAE, India,
Vietnam, Japan, Russia and USA. There were 11 stops
in all.
